Extreme site restrictions including radical topographical
changes, proximity to a cliff, exposed bedrock, and
a narrow triangular lot made the design of this home
extremely challenging.
Taking full advantage of the view to the north of
La Conner’s Rainbow Bridge, this house nestles
into its hillside site with enough room for a small
outdoor patio area squeezed between the bedrock and
the house, while dramatically skirting the cliff on
the view side .
Tall ceilings and lots of natural light give this
small home a spacious feeling. Exterior materials were
selected for their low maintenance qualities. Careful
attention to space planning maximizes views from all
of the main living spaces.
